For the event, we extracted the traces left behind by our audience, on Shimmer. For the last few years, we’ve reflected on benches and their removal from cultural institutions, a signal for the removal of the body, the rejection of the body for more ocular-centricity.  We contemplate on our distance as we look at Shimmer’s empty benches during the Covid-19 pandemic. As such, we made a large drawing from these benches, the scratches, the marks, the dents that are left behind on the soft poplar benches. These marks are forms of contact, of both past, present and future coming together. These drawings were then sent to the homes of the audience that viewed the work with some installation instructions.
