Shimmer is ending summer in Marseille, France with SYSTEMA, a gathering of affinities, offering a social space that provides a venue and visibility for independent spaces, artist- or curator-run initiatives, and non-profit collaborative projects.

Shimmer is exhibiting three works by Hong Kong based artist Lee Kit whose paintings and installations involve a material layering where projector light, text, found materials such as containers, plastic bags, t-shirts and print outs, build atmospheric experiences that move between the foreground and background. Kit’s work deeply influences Shimmer’s curatorial practice. Precision in the shadows, spontaneity, reflexivity and an openness to respond.
