Please join us on Saturday 11 February (17:00 til late) for a mini-exhibition of our archive, a dinner, and a night of dancing to celebrate Shimmer’s five-year anniversary. Over these years, we have worked with over 180 people whose works and ideas have left deep impressions on us. We are also continually learning from our audience, who with your generosity have added warmth and nuance to each occasion. 

Shimmer learns and matures because of you. It looks like love. Don’t stop now. 

Celebrating Shimmer as a studio in which experimentation is our aim, our exhibition will include frottage wallpaper of our floors picking up the marks, knicks, scratches, and scars from all of our exhibitions and events. We will also present our collection of flowers kept and dried through these years, and play On The Waves With a playlist including a song from each playlist that has been made for the program. Each mark, petal, and riff is a marker of time that has made Shimmer what it is. 

During our anniversary event, we will also present our book Shimmer, a manual of undoing, a book of photography. The book is designed by Christophe Clarijs and published by Shimmer Press. It is available for preorder now (please email us to register your interest).
